Last time I posted about a Knife Party music video, we got some complaints; so, I’m just going to go ahead and say this video isn’t for the squeamish (or those afraid of bugs). The fan made “Internet Friends” video was absolutely insane, and this is like that, but with the addition of giving you chilopodophobia.
If you missed their dubstep banger “Centipede” you should definitely go back and check it out. It opens with this really weird intro about giant tropical centipedes killing tarantulas (damn, nature, you scary). Then, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen just do their thing and its absolutely filthy.
Well, as of Tuesday, we have visuals and this time, its from Swire and McGrillen themselves. This is the first official Knife Party music video, and it’s exactly what you would expect it to be.
They actually did a surprisingly good job of translating the frantic and overwhelming nature of the track into visual form.
We open with some old school titles before the intro comes in. You really don’t know what’s happening until we get to the first explosive kick. Then shit gets real. Fire, chemicals, a team of very well trained centipedes, a man rampaging with an axe, I mean they pulled out all the stops on this one. I’d go deeper into it, but you just got to check it out for yourselves.
I respect Swire and McGrillen so much for going a more traditional route on this one. They could have just thrown together some insane concert footage and called it a day, but they didn’t. And that folks, is caring.
Gonna start flailing an axe when I’m startled – music inspires me sometimes!
